The Lake District

learn how to travel & plan the trip of a lifetime

Argentina’s Lake District marks the northernmost reaches of Patagonia, and like the rest of the fabled region it offers a host of beautiful landscapes and sceneries. The natural center to the Lake District is Bariloche and the surrounding Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, where outdoors enthusiasts can enjoy a plethora of activities including trekking, kayaking, and bike and horseback riding. Venture south and find El Bolsón, a more bohemian version of Bariloche, or Lago Menendez and Parque Nacional Los Alerces. To the north is the fly-fishing haven San Martín de los Andes as well as the Seven Lakes Drive, a breath-taking road through a myriad of sky-blue lakes.
