Bariloche and Around
learn how to travel & plan the trip of a lifetime

There’s no shortage of things to around Bariloche, the most important being a visit to Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi. Cerro Catedral, named for the shape of its highest peak, is home to one of the most popular South American ski resorts (the season runs from July to September) and has excellent views of Lago Nahuel Huapi. The Cerro Otto cable car will take you up to 1,400 meters (4,593 ft), where you can take a walk through the forest or dine in a restaurant while enjoying the wonderful valley views. The Circuito Chico is a short hiking route that leads to Playa Bonita, offering a view of several islands. From there, roads will lead you to several lakes and a dense forest. From the lovely town of Villa la Angostura you can join the Seven Lakes Circuit that winds between several lakes and ends up in beautiful San Martín de los Andes. El Bolsón is a set in a picturesque valley. Driving along its roads, you will be able to stop at small farms and taste delicious local produce such as cherries, raspberries, and apples.
