Founded in 2006, Parque Nacional del Chicamocha protects part of the rim of the Río Chicamocha’s canyon. This national park proffers much for the amusement of its visitors. The culture connoisseur can partake the Museo Guane, Plaza de los Costumbres and the Salón de Exposiciones. The adrenaline junkie can paraglide or zip down the cable-vuelo. For the whole family, there are walking trails, lookouts over the gorge, buggy cars, and an ostrich farm.

 

ADMISSION: $6 adults, $3 children; the buggies, cable-vuelo (zipline) and ostrich farm are extra.

 

Cable Car

The park now has a 6.3-kilometer (3.9 mi) length cable car network. The system goes across the canyon from Mesa de los Santos to Panachi. It has three stations: The first one is located inside the park, the middle one next to the river and the last one in the “Vereda el Tabacal”. The cable car costs $5 each way.
